The basics
Is the invoice generator really free?
Yes — 100% free. Unlimited invoices, unlimited PDF downloads, no watermark, no time limit, no card. If we ever add a paid tier, it will be for advanced features (multi-user, cloud sync, API access) and the core generator will remain free.
Do I need to sign up or install anything?
No. Open the site, fill your details, download a PDF. Sign-up is only needed if you want to save your invoices to the cloud and access them from another device.
Which browsers does it work on?
Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox, Brave — any modern browser from 2020 onwards. Mobile Chrome and Safari are fully supported.
Does it work offline?
After the page loads once, the entire generator (including PDF creation) runs in your browser. So yes — mostly offline. Templates and Font Awesome icons need internet on first load.
GST & taxes
Does it support GST invoices?
Yes. GSTIN, HSN/SAC codes, tax percentages (5/12/18/28%), CGST + SGST for intra-state, IGST for inter-state — all supported. Auto-calculated.
Can I use it if I'm not GST-registered?
Yes — set tax to 0% and the invoice becomes a "Bill of Supply". Perfect for freelancers and small businesses below the ₹20 lakh (services) / ₹40 lakh (goods) threshold.
What about e-invoice IRN generation?
Not yet. Our tool prepares a fully compliant tax invoice PDF. You still need to upload the data to einvoice1.gst.gov.in yourself to get an IRN. IRP API integration is on our roadmap for Q3 2026.
Templates & design
How many templates are there?
Eleven — Classic, Modern, Minimal, Corporate, Executive, Compact, Techno, Nordic, Boutique, Elegant and Bold. All support the same data, so switching is instant.
Can I change the accent colour?
Yes — colour picker in the sidebar. Choose any HEX colour; the PDF adapts.
Can I add my logo?
Yes — PNG, JPG or SVG. Uploaded once, saved in your browser, embedded into every future invoice PDF.
Signatures
How does the signature feature work?
Three modes — Draw (with mouse/finger/stylus), Type (in a genuine signature font), or Upload (a scanned PNG). Uploaded signatures get white background auto-removed.
Is a digital signature legally valid?
An image of a signature is accepted in most Indian business transactions. For strict compliance (courts, banks), use a Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) — that's a different mechanism outside our tool's scope.
Data & privacy
Where is my data stored?
In your browser's localStorage — never on our servers. If you sign up, your invoices are saved to our MySQL database (encrypted at rest).
Do you share data with third parties?
Never. See the privacy policy.
How do I delete my invoices?
Click the "Reset" button in the generator — clears your browser storage instantly. If you have a cloud account, delete individual invoices from your dashboard.
PDFs & printing
What paper size is the PDF?
A4 (210 × 297 mm). Prints correctly on A4 and Letter size printers with only minor margin loss.
Are the numbers rendered correctly?
Yes — indian-format numerical rendering (12,34,567.89) in the on-screen preview, en-US format in the PDF (12,345,678.89) with "Rs." currency prefix (WinAnsi-safe).
